Corrections

We get things wrong sometimes. When we do, we say so on the story itself and list it here.

How we handle errors

A material error — a wrong figure, a misattributed quote, a mischaracterised fact — is corrected in the story and marked with a dated note at the bottom of it explaining what changed. The note stays there permanently.

We do not quietly edit published stories. Fixing a typo does not need a note; changing what a story says does.

If you think something we published is wrong, write to desk@therisingstory.com. Tell us which story, what is wrong, and what the correct information is. We aim to respond within three working days, and we correct as soon as we have verified.
